Akeem Gerald selected for Subway Joeys 27th International Youth Football in Niigata, Japan 2025

Subway Joeys' Head Coach Carl Veart has confirmed the 20-player Subway Joeys squad that will represent Australia at the 27^th International Youth Football in Niigata, Japan.

Melbourne Football Academy is delighted to have Akeem Gerald selected in this squad, continuing on his accomplishments from his selection in the CommBank Emerging Socceroos Championships U16 Team of the Tournament.

The 27^th International Youth Football in Niigata sees Australia Compete against U17 teams from Wales, Japan and a Niigata selection side in a round-robin tournament. The champion will be determined by the team with the strongest record at the end of the tournament.  

International Youth Football 2025 Match Schedule:

• Thursday 11^th September - Subway Joeys vs Niigata @ 4:00pm AEST, Sun Sportsland Shibata
• Saturday 13^th September – Subway Joeys vs Wales @ 4:00pm AEST, Sun Sportsland Shibata
• Monday 15^th September – Subway Joeys vs Japan @ 4:00pm AEST, Denka Big Swan Stadium
