Akeem Gerald Signs For Melbourne City FC

Melbourne Football Academy wants to take a moment to congratulate Akeem Gerald for securing his first senior contract, signing with Melbourne City FC on a three-year deal.

It is super exciting to see Akeem go from strength to strength and continue progressing in his footballing journey. As a former student of the MFA of Football Excellence program it is great to see him continue showing outstanding dedication to his craft and continuing to be rewarded for his hard work.

Earlier this year Akeem made his first appearance in Melbourne City's VPL 1 team and in his second game became the youngest goal scorer in City's Youth Team history. Following on from this, Akeem was selected for Melbourne City's Australia Cup round of 32 game and set another record to become the youngest men's player to represent them.

Whilst setting records at Melbourne City, Akeem was drawing national interest.

Akeem was selected for the CommBank Emerging Socceroos Championships, and was named in the U16's Team of the Tournament. His performances at an Under 16's level played a key role in his selection to represent Australia again. Recently, playing for the Subway Joeys at the International Youth Football tournament in Japan.

Akeem now has a fantastic stage to showcase his talents in the A-League in season 2025/2026. 

Everyone at Melbourne Football Academy is thrilled by Akeem's achievements thus far, and we are keenly awaiting his first A-League game.
